my name is julie pose and i am a fully qualified person-centred psychotherapist, offering sessions for both adults and children

i decided to train to become a therapist after a varied and international working life based mostly in teaching, human resources and information technology

having my own children gave me the inspiration and opportunity to change career and i am now a practicing psychotherapist and supervisor

i am also an associate fellow of the higher education authority, a university of aberdeen tutor on the postgraduate person-centred counselling diploma, i run my own private practice in aberdeen and own and run "the counselling space" offices in aberdeen's west end

my psychotherapy training was accredited by cosca - counselling and psychotherapy in scotland - and i am now a counselling member of this, scotland's counselling governing body

my practice adheres to the cosca statement of ethics and code of practice, available here

i have successfully completed certificate level training in drawing and talking, a gentle art and talking based therapeutic offering, particularly suitable for children

i am a registered member of the bacp - the british association for counselling and psychotherapy. my registration number is 163507

what are your qualifications?

i have an honours bachelor of arts in law and management, a post graduate diploma in person-centred counselling and a certificate in drawing & talking

i am currently studying for an msc in person-centred counselling

i am also a counselling supervisor, accredited trained through cosca

finally, i also tutor within the counselling, wellbeing and educational psychology department at the university of aberdeen

are you a member of any professional bodies?

i am a registered member of the british association of counselling and psychotherapy (bacp) and a counselling member of counselling and psychotherapy in scotland (cosca).


i also hold full public liability insurance and am police checked by disclosure scotland to work with both adults and children

will my child be safe with you?

i am a mother and innately know not only how precious each child is, but also how important it is to create safe, nurturing and caring relationships for a child. i value, respect and deeply hold the desire to help those who sometimes can do so little to help themselves, but can also hold so much potential for change

how do I make an appointment?

for adults, please contact me in the first instance and we can arrange a mutually suitable appointment time

for children, again please contact me in the first instance to make an appointment where we can meet and discuss your child's needs. we can then take it from there according to what works best for everyone.

how much does each session cost?

for both adults and children, each session lasts for 50 minutes and costs £50.

as i believe that money should never be a barrier to getting help when it's needed, both fees are open to to be discussed

how many sessions will be needed?

therapy has no predetermined length; sessions will be made and reviewed according to the progress and needs of each individual client
