Counselling and Psychotherapy for Adults and Children in Aberdeen

I offer therapy for adults, young people and children aged between 5 and 18 years old.

I identified the need for more specialised, professional and caring support in particular for children and young people in the North East of Scotland.  My training and volunteering has led me to offer a professional, safe and caring service for adults and children alike.

The first room is good sized and contains two comfortable swan style swivel chairs for talking therapy.

This room is also home to the sand tray and miniatures used for sand therapy and there is a desk and chairs for drawing therapy.

The second room is a large, comfortable room with enough seating for up to six people.

This room lends itself to both talking and drawing therapies as there is a sofa, an armchair, an adult desk and chairs and a child's desk and chairs.

Whilst your child is in their session, you are welcome to either leave the presmises or wait in my comfortable, warm waiting room.

Magazines, teas, Nespresso and water are provided for your comfort.

There is also a WC available if needed.

"What are your qualifications?"

I have an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Law and Management, a Post Graduate Diploma in Person Centred Therapy and a Certificate in Drawing & Talking

I also teach undergraduate counselling skills at the University of Aberdeen

"Are you a member of any professional bodies?"

I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a Counselling Member of Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland (COSCA).

I also hold full public liability insurance and am police checked by Disclosure Scotland to work with both adults and children

"Will my child be safe with you?"

I am a mother and innately know not only how precious each child is, but also how important it is to create safe, nurturing and caring relationships for a child.  I value, respect and deeply hold the desire to help those who sometimes can do so little to help themselves, but can also hold so much potential for change.

"How do I make an appointment?"

For adults, please contact me in the first instance and we can arrange a mutually suitable appointment time.

For children, again please contact me in the first instance to make an appointment where we can meet and discuss your child's needs.  We can then take it from there according to what works best for everyone.

"How much does each session cost?"

For both adults and children, each session lasts for 50 minutes and costs £50.

As I believe that money should never be a barrier to getting help when it's needed, both fees are open to to be discussed.

"How many sessions will be needed?"

Therapy has no predetermined length; sessions will be made according to the progress and needs of each  client.

"How can I pay?"

I have a card reader in my practice and also accept cash or cheque.

"Are your offices wheelchair accessible?"

Unfortunately, no.  My offices are on the first floor of an old building and are not accessible by wheelchair.

"My child doesn't speak English; can they still be seen?"

I have substantial experience working simultaneously with interpreters during chidlren's play therapy sessions.
